API Issues Following Upgrade to Apex?

  • 1.  API Issues Following Upgrade to Apex?

    Hello TBM Rock Stars!! πŸ±β€πŸ‘€πŸ™Œ

    A while back a friend emailed me about this, but I completely forgot about it until today when it happened to us, too!

    Appears that when you upgrade to the new Apex platform, some connectors in Datalink (Classic) may break due to the API URL changing.

    Anyone else have an issue with this?  What did you do to fix it?

    Will add this as well, the error we keep getting - even though we correct the API URL - is "text/xml is not a valid mime type".  Any ideas?

    Tagging a few folks who are interested as well 😊  Thank you in advance for your review and feedback!!

    @Andrew Schneider @Craig Solomon

    Jenny -
    What authentication method (Basic or OAuth 2.0) are you using?  If you are using basic the newer version has issues connecting.  We had to change our URLs to go around front door.
    Also I know there are some headers you now have to add to the API pull. So make sure those headers are added. they are in the release notes at the top.

    Hi Jenny,
    It looks a like something I saw an internal message about but I'm not quite sure.  If you haven't already, I'd recommend submitting a support ticket so we can be sure and track additional situations if it's the same or get someone to look at it if it's a different issue.
    Cheers,
    Deb

    Craig is right!  It was a change that happened when we split out the Server/Client/Template releases and it's covered at the top ofeach of the Server Release notes in Help Center

    Uh oh @Debbie Hagen - got another one - semi-related, I guess, to the Apex platform upgrade.  We had a bunch of buttons on reports with links to other reports that were confirmed to be working, but following the upgrade, they're all broken. Whyyyyy.... 😰😒😭

    Here's one link for reference that's not working any longer - and we opened the report itself from the Project Explorer to check the URL and it's the exact same still. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

    Additionally, we have some non-Apptio links and they're no longer working either.  Ideas, suggestions, prayers? 😁

    We received a reply from the support team for the link issue. It worked great! In Apex you need to configure your html links to open as new tabs. Adding target="_blank" will make the HTML link open in a new tab.

    Example:

    <a href="url"
    target="_blank"
    >
    TEXT
    </a>

    Thanks, @Andrew Schneider. I checked our hyperlinks and they all work. I had already added the HTML code you suggest to add it in a new tab. Great!
