Hi Community,

I have a AIX environment with a db2 database installed.

So far we have feeling a degradation performance from the database.
Things we checked:

• CPU entitledment configured is 0.2
• CPU entitledment consumed is 1.9
• DB2 CPU Usage is 700%,800%, etc.

After check this document:

• Assigning the appropriate processor entitled capacity (ibm.com)

I conclued that CPU value are not good.

How can I fix this?

Hi Filipe, 

Probably AIX forum is better place for such question as this forum is specific for open source software on AIX.
Anyway from your description is clear that you have lesser CPU (processing unit)  assigned to partition. 
You can increase the processing unit of the LPAR using HMC. If you are changing profile then you will have to shutdown and restart partition to take effect.
If the max processing unit is configured  correctly then you can also try DLPAR to increase processing unit.
This all depends on if you have available processing unit in system.
