  • 1.  AIX CIFS version for Win 2019

    Hi All,

    We're running AIX with service pack 7100-02-01-1245, and mounting a shared folder from Windows server.

    Currently we have cifs 7.1.2 installed, and cifs mount is successful in Windows 2016, and lower.
    However mounting a shared folder is not successful in Windows 2019. Will a higher cifs mitigate the problem?

    AIX cifs is not open source and it is provided by AIX. 

    But anyway as per my knowledge Windows 2019 does not enable SMB1 by default and old AIX CIFS was supporting only SMB1.
    There is new AIX fileset "SMB client for AIX 3.0.2" that support SMB 2.1 and 3.0.2 for AIX and can be used with Windows 2019.
