Mark,
you mean AIX is so young and full-featured UNIX operating system that it is almost impossible to select the correct documentation to implement your requirements? Under EOL, you meant, of course, EOL of Microsoft D365, this old offering since 1981, correct?
Here is the link to the documentation on how to install and configure smbc.rte on AIX - https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-aix-install-and-configure-smbcrte
Here is the link to AIX 7.3 documentation on SMBFS - https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/aix/7.3.0?topic=management-smb-protocol
I don't have a Windows server to use it, but iirc it supports both SMB2 and SMB3, and even encryption.

Subject: AIX 7.2 and SMB2/3
Hi all.
My first post.
I work for a company who is using AIX 7.2 for some heritage ERP software whilst transitioning to D365, the company uses various viewing company built software to connect to the DB's built in Oracle on the AIX server.
Recently the company has disabled SMB1 due to security vulnerabilities, this has caused issues for the users using the software on Windows 11 PC's.
My thoughts were to install/enable SMB2/3 on the AIX server to solve this issue, however I am having difficulty finding the correct solution due to the age of AIX and EOL.
Does anyone have a saved link/solution please?
Kind regards
Mark
