By mistake we installed Tivoli VIO agent on the LPAR and ran bosboot command on AIX 6.1. During LPAR reboot it thinks its VIO server failed to boot. We use SAN LUN for root disk mapped thru VIO server.
When we activate, we see banner message like this:
Welcome to the Virtual I/O Server
    boot image timestamp: 23:22
We booted from NIM server and removed boot logical volume (hd5) and re-created hd5 and ran the bosboot command on the disk. This didn’t fix the problem. When we activate the LPAR still it says Welcome to VIO Server.
We re-installed fresh OS image another disk, it was able reboot with-out any problem.

    My question is:
    1. From where this LPAR getting ‘Welcome to the Virtual I/O Server’ message, even though we cleared boot block multiple times, this message didn’t go away.
    2. How do we fix this problem?

    Thanks
    SR
