If the boot sequence stops at SMS, then you will be prompted for the admin password (otherwise anyone could go in and change stuff. BTW, someone must have set the system to stop at SMS .. the default is to continue to running the Operating System.
If you don't want the system to stop at SMS (and therefore no need to enter the password either), you need to change one of the settings through ASMI. ASMI can be accessed either by attaching an ASCII terminal (or PC running suitable emulator, connected using a null-modem cable to the S1 port on the machine) or via web browser on a PC connected by Ethernet cable to the first port on the Service Processor.
System would have to be shutdown - i.e. 01 on the operator panel and green lamp flashing slowly.
Login to ASMI with the userid admin and whatever password you set for that.
Select 1 = Power/Restart Control, then 1 = Power On/Off system
4 = AIX/Linux Partition Boot Mode, then 1 = continue to Operating system
98 = return to previous menu, and check that 5 = Boot to server Firmware is set to "Running". You can then use 8 = Power on, or press the white button.
Further details, search for ASMI in the Hardware Info Center
