    A recently-detected IRLM defect (introduced by UI57604 in Sept 2018) can impact Db2 for z/OS data sharing environments causing retained locks to be lost in the event of a Db2 restart failure following a prior subsystem failure or shutdown with CASTOUT(NO).  HIPER APAR PH39075 (available July 2021) addresses this issue. This data integrity fix should be applied by all data sharing clients as soon as possible.

    While the problem scenario is rare, it may also result in an I/O error that causes IBM DS8000 disk volumes to become fenced    , or unavailable, if z High Performance FICON is used.  Clients with IBM DS8000 storage are advised to install microcode bundle 88.55.9.0 (March 2020) or later as soon as possible to address this issue.
