For anyone on the DB2-L listserv forum you may well already have seen the post (copied below).
We are after a volunteer from the UK Db2 customer base to volunteer to be the new chair for the committee.
From DB2-L:
There's been a little to-ing and fro-in in the makeup of the UK Db2 User Group committee. By random happenstance we've ended up with co-chairmen who both work for vendors. Marcus now works for BMC and Julia now works for CA. As a user group, my fellow committee members and I feel it best if at least one of our co-chairs worked for a Db2 customer, so Julia has agreed to become CA's Program Advisor. This creates a co-chair vacancy in the committee which we are looking for a volunteer for to fill.So does anyone UK-based who works for a Db2 customer fancy joining the UK Db2 User Group as co-chair? The responsibilities aren't too onerous:* Assisting with the planning of our meetings.* Coordinating with GSE regarding our stream in the annual November GSE conference.* Helping to organise presentations for the meetings.* Keeping your fellow committee members in line. (OK, so that one can be challenging at times...)* Various other committee activities that your fellow members run screaming from. Not to put the kiss of death on it from the start, but it would be handy - although not a requirement - if your employer sees the value of the User Group and would allow you to attend the meetings, at least occasionally. Historically we've had anywhere between 1 and 3 meetings a year, although lately we've tended to concentrate on the multi-day extravaganza that is GSE, so it's not a massive out-of-the-office commitment. It's a good way to raise your profile in the Db2 community and influence the development of the UK Db2 User Group. If you're interested, contact myself, or send Marcus and Julia a note at db2@gse.org.uk and we'll take it from there.------------------------------
