    Hi All,

    I am trying to access images in Cognos Analytics Reports.

    As per basic requirement, I have configured WebDAV server and able access through URL in chrome.

    But When I am trying to access images over Cognos Analytics Report, I am getting error as per attached screen-shot.

    Please help me to fix the issue, and how can we access the images in report.

    You can no longer search images using above path. Either you should know exact path or images or you can upload Image gallery via extensions to show up.

    1) How to manage Image Gallery to maintain images.
    2) How to find exact path of image. Do I need to use physical path or virtual path?

    The location you have specified (with ../samples/images/) is relative to the (installation directory/webcontent/bi). So you need to enable WebDAV on that location specifically if you want the default selection to work. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/configuring-webdav-view-and-browse-images-ibm-cognos-analytics

    Alternatively you can add images to the gallery using a custom extension:  https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEP7J_11.1.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.ag_manage.doc/c_ca_add_db_images.html
    When you have the custom extension, you add images from the gallery rather than adding an image object from the toolbox.

    Although Cognos Analytics is very different to BI, the way the report service resolves image locations is still similar:  https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/ba-pp-infrastructure-cognos_specific_page665/index.html  
    This document will help you to understand how the report service is accessing image locations depending on output type and the way the location is defined.

    Once setup you will find it all fully functional and tested over many versions to be secure and stable.

    Have you configured cognos.conf, if yes then what is the alias name default is ibmcognos try /ibmcognos/samples/images/file_name

    Thanks for your response.

    I configured the WebDAV and able to access the images through URL, but when I am trying to access same URL over image control I am getting error.

    Please find the attached screen-shot for details.

    Requesting your help and inputs, if I am missing anything.

    I couldn't find cognos.conf file on server. I have installed only Cognos Analytics Server.

    Hello,

    I think you are demonstrating directory browsing which will be a little different. WebDAV would be more like mapping a network drive to that location. Based on your URI, it looks like you might be using a flavour of apache HTTP server? Setting up WebDAV there can be tricky. 

    The only reason I can see why your location would not work is that your web server is not configured just right. The image functionality has been part of IBM Cognos for many versions and is a standard function so there is something missing in the web server configuration.

    Now might be a good time to work with IBM support to review the configuration and troubleshoot your gateway installation.

    I configured IIS server for accessing the images from server.

    Let me check, if I can get any support from IBM to review the configuration and troubleshoot gateway installation.

    Currently, we are facing issue with server, once its up and running Can I share configuration document regarding IIS and WebDAV server which we had done.
