    Hello Team,

    Whether Cognos has the ability to read source data through an external API? Basically the source data comes through an API call, and Cognos should able to read the data and do reporting on top of it. Please let me know if this is feasible and can share any document /links which helps in this regard. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Subject to change -> currently on track for delivery in CA 11.1.6 which is currently on track for release in Q1 2020 is a new web service (REST API) data connector. This will have come configuration options to accommodate different types of API responses, but it won't be able to handle any potential response well, therefore it may or may not work well enough with your particular API. We won't know for sure until you can test it out hopefully with 11.1.6
     
     For the time being, i.e., before 11.1.6 is released, options to make web service (REST API) data available to Cognos are:
     
    You can access the web service data in CA via supported 3rd party data virtualization products like :
    https://www.denodo.com/en
    https://www.tibco.com/products/data-virtualization

    For those willing to write code, you can write Python in a Jupyter Notebook to load the data into Cognos.
     
    Some requirements may be satisfied by the following SDK which could be used to access web service data:
