4.6 to 4.7 on business connector

We want to migrate from 4.6 to 4.7 of SAP Business Connector. At the same time, we want to buy a new server and install 4.7 on it.

Can one of you tell me what are the things to keep in mind while ordering the server. We are going to implement many processes pretty soon on this new box. These processes have high number of transactions going back and forth between SAP and BC. What are the things to watch for when we set up the new system?

We also need to migrate the existing packages from 4.6 to the new box which will have 4.7 installed. Please advise about any potential pitfalls and things to watch out for.

Finally, are there any consultants available for few weeks to assist in this?

Thanks in advance for all your replies.

I don’t know the differences between 4.6 and 4.7 so the migration may be fairly trivial or it may not. However, you must know the SAP BC is no longer supported by SAP. It’s not supported by wM either. Implementing new processes on an unsupported platform may not be a wise thing to do.

webMethods offers “webMethods for SAP” as a transition path. You may want to seriously consider it.
