2072-2N4

  • 1.  2072-2N4

    Posted Tue February 25, 2025 10:52 AM
I have a 2072-2N4 that the superuser password has been lost.
The service port has been disabled. I can access the GUI thru the management IP.
What do I need to do to recover the superuser password?

    Unfortunately, no.
When I get to the GUI I only have the option to log in as superuser. That password has been lost.

    Hi

    Reset password

Save this command to notepad file in USB
    satask resetpassword -password  'passw0rd'

    Filename satask

    Hi William,

The name of the file must be "satask.txt".

It is not possible to use the factory default password "passw0rd", you have to specify something different.

You have to put that file on a USB stick and put it into the USB port at one of the nodecanisters.

The USB stick must be formated with FAT32.

The Flashsystem will recognize the stick and the "satask.txt" file on it, and will execude the specified "satask" command.

    Hi

Just you need to plug USB in node. And amber led will show up.
Then you can try to login with new password.

I created the file. When I plug it into the node, the node wipes my file and writes the san html data to the drive. Am I doing something wrong?

    Hi William,

no the replacement of the satask.txt file by the html file is works as designed.

If you open the html file, you will see the reponse to the command within the formerly satask.txt file. (wether the command was executed with success or not)

If succeeded you should now be able to logon using the specified password.

Yes. It created. But would not run the init process for the password reset. I ended up replacing the controllers and all is well.
