Has anyone tried running SPSS 28 on an Intel Mac with Monterey?
Likewise, on Monterey with an M1/M1-Pro/Max Mac with Monterey?

    Thanks

    Jon

Hi. We have tested Monterey on Intel with version 28 and have not seen any issues.

I am less sure whether we have tested Monterey on M1 but we have no reason to expect any issues there either.

I just tried to install SPSS 28 on macbook pro with intel chip and mc os monterey 12.0.1, and it repeatedly and almost immediately crashes on startup. JAVA Issue? java appears briefly in dock, than crashes without error message.
Licensing wihard was running fine, and also spss 27 keeps running.

Any ideas how to get spss 28 run on mac os monterey??

    Thanx a lot

hi. I'm on a Mac myself:

and am seeing no issues with 28 or 27.

I wonder if you could please start the application from a console window. If you don't know how to do that:

    1) In Finder, go to /Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics/SPSS Statistics.app
    2) Right click and select "Show Package Contents"
    3) Double-click on Contents, then MacOS, then, on "stats", right-click to open a terminal window (Services > New iTerm Window here (or whatever terminal you have))

    - or -
skip steps 1 through 3 by opening a terminal window on your desktop and simply cd to /Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics/SPSS Statistics.app/Contents/MacOS

    4) In that console window, type "./stats" (no quotes)

Please let us know what if any feedback comes to that window. Just select it, then copy and paste like any other text.

Have you tested on the M1 yet?

Also if used on the M1 should I run in Rosetta mode?

    Thanks

    Hi.

    From one of my colleagues:

"Yes, have tested the Intel Stats 26, 27, and 28 on M1.  Because we have not released an M1 (Apple Silicon) native version, Stats will run in Rosetta mode on M1 hardware."
