Hi everyone,
My apology if it is not a right forum for this question. I have no experience with IBM data power so forgive my questions seems very naïve.
CASE A: When Data power is performing Forward Proxy function
Above, DATA power is performing a Forward Proxy function for Client A when Client A wants to talk Server 1 across internet.
1) Let say Client initiates a TCP connection to data power's 10.10.10.1, but Data power can not establish a connection to Server 1 on behalf of client.
What will happen next? Will Data power terminates TCP connection attempt by Client A?
Is there any particular terminology we use to refer to TCP connection between Client A and Data power, and TCP connection between Data power and Server1?
CASE B: When Data power is performing reverse Proxy function
Above, data power is performing reverse proxy function when Client B behind internet wants to talk to Server1 in Company A.
Let say Client B initiates a TCP connection to data power 200.200.200.1, data power in turn initiates a tcp connection to 10.10.10.10. Suppose for some reason data power cannot establish TCP connection to Sever 1 ( may be server1 is down), what will happen next? Will data power terminates TCP connection attempt by Client B behind internet?
Much appreciated !!
