Of course, we're all tracking the top IBM events: Think 2025 in Boston (May 5-8) and IBM TechXchange 2025 in Orlando (October 6-9).

Can you share what other events you're planning for in 2025?

    • User group events
    • Industry events
    • IBM events
    • Other events

Include any big viirtual events, too, such as  IBM TechXchange Developer Day: Virtual Agents on 23 January 2025.

We'd like to add them to our 2025 overall calendar!

I'm probably not going to manage to get to these this coming year, but I am eyeing up for the following year. However, these should definitely be on your list to keep an eye on:-

    • GSE UK (there were quite a number of IBM Champions at this one in 2024 so you might already have it on your list).
    • GSE Nordic
    • SHARE (2 conferences per year)

    Cheers,

This is where I'll be next year:

    • Several regional and industry specific Maximo user groups (FL, GA, Airport, etc.) - sponsor and host, will likely speak
    • Maximo Utilities Working Group (MUWG) - presenting with a client or two
    • TechXchange in Orlando - definitely wanting to attend (it's in my backyard) and hoping to present

I will be organizing the zExpertForum in Switzerland twice again. Once in April and once in October. In addition, I will be speaking at the mainframe block week at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in September and doing exercises on the mainframe with the students. I will also take part in other TechXchange events. Which ones are still open.

    Hi Libby,

I will be submitting abstracts for NA SHARE, NA IDUG, EMEA SHARE and EMEA IDUG for starters.  I will also plan on participating in the IBM TechXchange 2025 in Orlando (3.0 this year!?).

I am on the Board of Directors for the Computer Measurement Group (CMG) this year and will also be on it for next year, 2025.  As such, I am on their planning committees for their annual conference IMPACT and their virtual series events consisting of "Be Curious", "Software for Humanity", "AI Ethics" and, finally, their international "Regional Events" - the first one in 2025 is currently scheduled to be held at the IBM Toronto Lab, Canada venue.

At this year's IBM TechXchange in Vegas, CMG was honored to become an official IBM User Group, which has many advantages, including being an ideal venue for advocacies for IBM Rising Champions and IBM Champions (virtual and live events).  I am, as many others are, looking forward to 2025 and all the opportunities that exist.

This correspondence that you initiated will be a great help to accomplish advocacies - thank you for your leadership Libby!

I could be incorrect, but I believe there was some talks about TechXchange EMEA being a "fort-annually" occurring event

(i.e. occurring every other year, so 2024, 2026, etc...)

First of all let me say that I'm soooooo happy that TechXchange isn't in Vegas again, excited to try and get to Orlando for that.  We are allowed to bring our dogs right?   Could have a petting zoo in the expo.

Besides that, hoping to spend quite a bit of time again talking with students at Illinois Universities about the great future ahead of them if they choose to pursue a career on the mainframe.  And always looking for companies that are hiring new graduates or interns to join me!

Still holding out hope for those in charge, that they decide that inviting IBM Gold Consultants to z Design Council would be beneficial, to represent all the customers that we work with that don't get their opinions heard otherwise.

    Hi Libby,

I'm planning to attend and speak at:

    • COMMON's POWERUp
    • WMCPA
    • COMMON's NAViGATE

Also hoping to attend TechXchange in Orlando, and possibly also my first Think, in Boston.

Please also help share the news about our local user group on Long Island that I help run. Our next meeting is coming up on Wed 12/11/24, and is our holiday tradition Night of 1000 Stars! Rather than one speaker for the entire evening, we will have many speakers, each presenting for 5-7 minutes, on a wide variety of topics. Some may be technical, but most are offbeat and entertaining. It makes for a fun and engaging holiday meeting full of networking opportunities. More info and registration at https://www.lisug.org/featured-event/night-of-1000-stars. Come join us in person if you're in the area, or we have a low cost virtual attendance option available.

    Hi Libby,

what about the TBM Council events which are connected to the IBM Apptio Automation product portfolio? The worldwide TBMC25 is in November in Miami and the European TBMC25 in June in Amsterdam.

If you or your customers are interested in the IBM Apptio productline, these are the conferences to be!

I will try to attend the TechXchange 2025 in Orlando (if my company is willing to pay for it) as well as one or more IBM events in EMEA.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, there is no comprehensive (and easy-to-find) overview of all IBM events for the upcoming year, so we are typically surprised by events in EMEA (typically with 1 or 2 months notice, unlike TechXchange which is known a year ahead)...

Hope to see each of you soon :-)

    Hi Libby,

Thanks for pointing me to this page again. It used to be quite empty, and I recall (after corona) events were only posted there after invites were already sent out. In EMEA for European events we typically had 1-2 months to react. Our company likes to know upfront what events various partners are going to provide during the year, to plan who can go to what event(s).
    This page will certainly help.

My appearance at TechXchange Orlando seems confirmed by now (after my March holiday I will enroll as a champion), so I'll meet you in person in Orlando. Hope to be able to attend a Dutch (or other European event) also. Would love to speak at a conference, but thinking about a proper subject and may not make the deadline (before my holiday starts).

Starting a new job today (tomorrow really), so those things haven't been fully fleshed out, but THINK and TXC for sure.  Maybe RH Summit.  I'd like to build something where I can find excuses to go to the SC one but we won't get greedy.

New boss wants to "fly the flag" where it makes sense.  My last company wouldn't spend the money - travel had to come from the IBM relationship P&L.  Getting a free pass from the Champions program made it easier to justify.

    Hi Libby,

I'm going to attend the following events:

    • Several local / EU based Maximo User Groups - If possible presenting some nice Maximo / AI Use cases
    • MaximoWorld 2025 - 100% Phoenix (calls for paper rejected, too many presentations sent in)
    • IBM TechXchange 2025 - 100% sure,  hoping to present (multiple calls for paper), as well as a TechByte / AMA session
    • BEMAS - Asset Performance Management Event (EMEA) - presenting about AM & GenAI
    • AquaTech - Global Water Management event in Amsterdam - presenting about Asset Management Maturity & logical roadmap
    • InfraTech - Asset Management within the Infrastructure Industry - NEN-EN2767 Condition measurement regulation in EU

I'm doubting to attend the IBM Think in Boston this year (beside being a champion and love to share my passion and experience, I have a daily responsible job to perform, and April, May and June are typical "busy" months)

    Hi Libby,

for this year I'm only planning for TechXchange 2025 in Orlando, as it's a intercontinental trip from Germany, and I was at POW3R in Würzburg in November.

I'm planing to give a TechTalk in Orlando, if I will get the opportunity to do so. This will be my first public talk at all - as I'm more the introvert hands-on type of guy - not a speaker so much. But I'm really exited to do something new this year.

First of all there will be some more regional events in Germany like:

    • IBM Storage Strategy Days
    • IBM Storage Expertenforum
    • Some User Group Meetings (SVC, BVQ, Tape)

And as a highlight for me personally I plan to attend the IBM TechXchange in October and perhaps stay another week or two in the states

with my family for a little vacational road trip. I haven't been in the states since 2017...

    Hi Libby,

On my side, I am obviously planning to attend TechXchange in October. However, I will have to miss Think because of baby #3 that will be too young to travel to this amazing conference! :-)

For now, I am planning events in my online communities:

    • Put AI to work community

In this community, we are hosting monthly 5@7 in Montreal (we should start Toronto and Los Angeles in 2025H2) to discuss how AI (through Watsonx) can deliver concrete business value.

      Links:
    • IBM Integration User Group

We are just starting this community with the intent of sharing (in French) our knowledge around the IBM integration products. We are also planning 2-3 events to allow IBM integration users to meet and share their experience.

      Link:

Thanks for your help in sharing our events! :-)

    Hi Libby,

I plan to attend TechXchange in Orlande this year - first time IBM Champion and first time at TechXChange at all.

My plan is, to bring my daughter with me, as she's in her 1st year of college to become a business software developer.

But I have a question - is there already some information about how to register as an IBM Champion for TechXchange for the complementary tickets - incl. the guest ticket (for my daughter)? Did I miss it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,
    Daniel
