"No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world" - Robin Williams, movie "Dead Poets Society"
In our dynamic world, we are compelled to bring great ideas to life. In the spirit of delivering feedback, the IBM Ideas portal is the perfect place to do it - it is a platform designed to empower the community of IBM technology users to help shape the future.
More than just a suggestion box, IBM Ideas portal is a collaborative space and way for you share ideas, make suggestions, and share your opinions about IBM products. You can also follow, vote, and comment on other ideas. If you see something on the portal that you would also like to see happen, your input via comments and votes will help promote and prioritize the idea(s) that matter most to you and your colleagues. All you need is an IBM ID to log in.
Once you've logged in here's how it works:
- Post your idea: Share you innovate thoughts on enhancing products or services. Be as detailed as you like, but remember the more context you provide the better the IBM teams can understand and evaluate the idea.
- Vote on ideas: Browse the many ideas posted by others and cast your vote based on what aligns with your interests and needs. This helps the IBM product teams gauge the demand for specific features.
- Get feedback: The teams are always eager to hear more. They may reach out for more information or feedback to help refine your idea! This is a collaborative progress, ensuring your ideas are well-understood and considered for the development cycle.
- Stay informed: Once an idea is accepted, you will be notified about its progress. Some ideas may be implemented quickly, while other might be scheduled for future development cycles.
Using the IBM Ideas portal is also something we highly value in the IBM Rising Champions program. By starting with logging into IBM Ideas and submitting two (2) ideas on the portal, you're ready to apply to the IBM Rising Champions program. All you need to do is add your idea links in your application. If you're already an IBM Rising Champion or Champion, it's a matter of adding your idea to your activity report.
For more on this topic, please watch the replay of our 23 April Advocacy webinar called, "Advocacy through product feedback - CABs/CACs, IBM Ideas portal, and Product Reviews". Our special guest, and fellow IBMer @Suzie McCarthy walks through a demo of the IBM Ideas portal.
Ideas inspire change, move innovation along, and build on something greater.
I hope you take the time to share your great ideas!
