JavaScript Error since update to 11.2.1

    Hi,

    since the Update to IBM Cognos Analytics 11.2.1, I am getting the following errors when opening and running reports or trying to open another report via a Drillthroug-definition.

    at Object._7qn._mn8 (http://XXX/ibmcognos/bi/pat/halcchl_block.js:1:84834)
    at Object._h0i._fv9 (http://XXX/ibmcognos/bi/pat/rsstartupblock_5.ks:27_992)
    at Object._k0i._fv9 (http://XXX/ibmcognos/bi/pat/rsstartupblock_6.ks:3:7965)

    and many other errors similiar to the above ones.


    I am using Google Chrome Version 93.0.4577.82 or Microsoft Edge Version 93.0.961.47.

    Does anybody have similiar errors?

    Hi Stefan,

    I usully face those erros when the browser uses old cached data. Have you tried to delete all cookies, and temporary browser data yet?

    Another point to look at: extensions. Do you have extensions uploaded into your installation prior upgrading? some extensions are available from version 11.2.x exculisvely. You have to update them too.

    Hi Robert,

    thank you for your answer.

    I have exported and imported the Content Store with a new Database. I deleted all cookies and temporary browser data and removed the custom theme and extensions. Nevertheless, the error still exists.

    A few months before, we tested 11.2.0 and the error did not appear.

    Hi Stefan,

    You might want to try http://<server_name>:9300/bi/?factoryMode=true to be sure that Cognos Analytics starts with all extensions disabled.

    You can correct or delete your customized extensions or views before you restart Cognos Analytics with the standard URL.

    Thank you for your answer!

    I deleted all extensions and themes and still got the error message. Additionally, I ran Cognos in Factory Mode and I did not receive any error message.

    What is the difference between deleting all extensions and themes and using the factory mode?

    Hi Stefan,

    You might try to login with your browser in private/incognito mode to get rid of cache issues.

    You need to check issue with views. You need to correct or delete your customized extensions or views before you restart Cognos Analytics with the standard URL.

    Hi Patrick,

    I have tried out a lot of things today.

    First of all, I removed all extensions and themes and deleted cache & cookies - I still got the error message. In the next step, I tried out changing some settings in Chrome and Edge, still got the message. I recognized that the error always occurs, when opening IBM Cognos Analytics the first time in the tab - very interesting fact. After round about opening 20 reports, I get the error message.

    I researched the web and find out that this was an issue in earlier versions of Chrome and Edge Chromium with Cognos Analytics. We are using Chrome Version 98.0.4758.82 and Edge Version 98.0.1108.43 and Cognos Analytics 11.2.1-2109240655. Unfortunately, I am not able to use a browser not based on Chromium.

    Is somebody else facing this issue or having any other ideas?

    My users get this issue when they don't check "All period" when cleaning cache.

    Hello,

    I'm getting many js errors in Edge Console (F12) when trying to export Dashboards in PDF (Share -> Export) I tried to do all the steps described here without success,

    Do you know how to solve this?
