We have Cog Analytics 11.1.2 installed on prem, on a Windows 2016 SQL server.
Overnight at the weekend a Microsoft patch was applied and the server restarted.
This corrupted files in the C:\Program Files\ibm\cognos\analytics\wlp\usr\servers\cognosserver\workarea folder.
The first visible signs were a 'Context Root not found' error on the login page.
We managed to resolve the error by,
Shutting down using the Cognos Config tool, then making sure all services had stopped
Use Windows services to stop the Cognos Service if the config tool doesn't
Deleting the folder above (backing up first)
Restarting the Server
Restarting Cognos via the Config tool
Thought I would post, just in case anyone else has this issue.
I am waiting to hear back from our third party IT providers to identify the windows patch. I'll update as soon as I know what it was.
