Hi Emil
The ultimate goal is to get data from the existing Cognos Analytics directly onto Excel automatically, such as using Excel macro rather than manually using the web version of Cognos Analytics to generate Excel output and then import the data into Excel.
We are new to IBM Planning Analytics and IBM Cognos Analytics. We have the IBM Planning Analytics Microsoft Excel add-on (PAX). By accident, I saw one of the connection options in PAX is Cognos Analytics. Therefore, now trying to see if we can make it work.
It does not have to be this method if there is a better or another way to achieve the same goal.
I saw one of the IBM documentations mentioning IBM Cognos Analytics for Microsoft Office or for Microsoft Excel. It appears it is a separate Excel add-in that we can use, but we do not have it available within the company. I think that may be able to help doing what we try to do, to programmatically get the Cognos Analytics report data directly to Excel.
Thanks.

Hi Quin,
Could you tell a bit more about how you are trying to use IBM Planning Analytics to connect to Cognos Analytics? Are you trying to embed Cognos Analytics reports in a PAW book, having a button with a link or...?

Subject: Browser issue when using Planning Analytics to connect to Cognos Analytics?
Hi,
For those of you who had use IBM Planning Analytics to connect to Cognos Analytics, did you ever encounter a browser issue? If you had, is there any setting we can change in Planning Analytics?
When I tried the connection, I encountered an error, "Your browser is not compatible". I did some research and found an article in the IBM site. The cause is IE Mode is enabled in the Edge browser. For us, Edge is the default browser (we cannot change) and its settings are locked down, wonder from the IBM side, can we change the default browser it uses? Or it is not possible?
If it matters, we are using Planning Analytics version 2.0.89.3
Thanks
