Hi, Is there a handsome way to get a list in which objects data sources are used? Maybe through SQL on the content store tables?
    • Packages: In which data sets, reports, dashboards and data modules are they used?
    • Data Sets: In which data modules are they used?
    • Data Modules: In which (other) data modules, data sets, reports and dashboards are they used?

    Hello Philipp,

I use the free version of MotioPi to get the answer to the question you asked.

    https://motio.com/free-software/

The free version helps you to query through a user friendly UI the content store and you can export it in csv.

    Best regards

Hi Loic, Thank you for your reply. I talked to my colleagues who used this free version of MotioPI and they said they only found which report uses which package or data module. They didn't find nested dependencies. So my question reduced to: Which data module uses which other date modules, data sets or packages as sources?

    Hello Philipp,

Interesting question .. first of all i am not sure you can use content store for that. Because using  the Content Store is not supported, it can be updated cognos version after cognos version and you may miss something.

One thing would be extracting the metadata from the data module editor  with Ctrl + / + q   (but with an English keyboard,   the / must come from the numeric pad)

In this way you get  a json file and i think you ll get the nested data module , packages ... information.

One other way would be using API , by this way you should be able to get the json file as well.

    Hope it helps.
