IBM Power Virtual Server Private Cloud is an infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offering with highly prescriptive compute, storage, and network infrastructure residing in your data center and managed using IBM Cloud. The various IBM Cloud regions (for example, Dallas, Washington DC, London, Frankfurt, Sao Paulo, and so on) host the Power Virtual Server Private Cloud control plane software and the data center locations can be configured to connect to the nearest IBM Cloud region (in terms of total network round trip time). You can access the control console using the IBM Power Virtual Server Cloud service and can deploy and manage your on-premises and cloud-based resources, all from a single pane of glass.
The purpose of this blog is to introduce the various capabilities (that include: infrastructure, networking, solution, storage, and security) of the Power Virtual Server Private Cloud offering, examining both hardware and software perspectives.
