This month, we honor Imtiaz Ahmed, a Senior Consultant in Workflow & Process Automation at SABIC and an IBM Champion for three consecutive years. Imtiaz’s expertise in driving digital transformation through IBM technologies has made him a key influencer in Saudi Arabia’s automation landscape.
A Champion’s Journey:
Imtiaz’s favorite IBM product, IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW), stands out for its unparalleled flexibility and integration capabilities. “BAW’s ability to automate diverse business processes while adapting to evolving needs is transformative,” he says. “Its seamless integration with enterprise systems unlocks efficiency at scale.”
His advocacy centers on fostering community engagement and mentoring others in IBM technology, sharing practical insights to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
What fuels his commitment to the tech community? “Staying ahead of global trends and mastering new tools isn’t just about personal growth, it’s about empowering organizations to achieve their goals through innovation,” Imtiaz explains.
One of his proudest achievements includes designing an end-to-end bank account opening system for overseas Pakistani customers, built entirely on IBM BAW and seamlessly integrated with core banking systems to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Beyond technology, Imtiaz dreams of a role that offers unrestricted global travel. His advice to aspiring IBM Champions? “Join this vibrant community to learn, collaborate, and connect with passionate minds worldwide.”
Recently, Imtiaz attended the IBM Champions meetup in Riyadh, where he engaged in vibrant discussions on IBM’s vision for Granite AI Models and the future of open-source AI in general, fueling his excitement for how these technologies will transform innovation across Saudi Arabia.
