On December 15, 2023 a new major release of DevOps Model RealTime 12.0 (formerly known as Rational Software Architect RealTime Edition, renaming announcement can be found here and read more about the new names here) has been released. Included in this release is a brand new product DevOps Code RealTime 1.0, more about it later in this article.

Both products are part of the recently announced single unified DevOps Automation Portfolio release 2023.12.

What's new in DevOps Model RealTime 12.0

And last but not least:

DevOps Code RealTime is part of Model RealTime, means as a user of Model RealTime you are entitled to using Code RealTime too. Both products share the same TargetRTS and generate C++ code that works together.

A main difference is that Code RealTime is an extension for Visual Studio Code and Eclipse Theia! Another is the usage of the Art language which provides high-level concepts as capsules, state machines, ports, events and more. The Art compiler automatically generates highly performant and optimized C++ code that can be built into a stateful, event-driven realtime application.

Another exciting news is that we do provide a community edition for non-commercial use. You can download the community edition from

VSCode Marketplace or Eclipse Theia Marketplace - Open-VSX

I am looking forward to your feedback on our new major release and new product!
