Introduction to MAS
IBM MAS
Maximo Application Suite (MAS) is a powerful collection of applications, industry solutions, add-ons and tools. MAS is an integrated solution that optimizes the entire lifecycle of your assets, from planning and deployment to operation, optimization, and disposal, can lead to reductions in operational costs and risks, enhanced workforce productivity and asset reliability, and minimized environmental impact.
IBM MAS on IBM Power
Recognizing the growing demand for flexibility and the strategic value of leveraging Power servers for enterprise workloads and for addressing market demand for broader processor architecture support, we have worked on enabling MAS on the Power (ppc64le) architecture installable on Red Hat OpenShift Platform v4.17 and higher.
The initial release on IBM Power is done to facilitate adoption and migrations on IBM Power platform. The release includes MAS Manage (9.0.x and 9.1) and Core.
MAS Manage and Core includes:
- IBM Truststore
- IBM SLS (Suite License Service)
- IBM Maximo Operator Catalog
- MAS CLI support
This diagram shows the MAS components that are supported in the initial release on IBM Power.

Benefits of running MAS on IBM Power
- Maximo Manage enables efficient asset tracking, monitoring, and management
- Reduces silos, improving visibility, streamlining maintenance workflows, and ensuring operational consistency and equipment reliability
- Resiliency and High Availability: 99.9999% resiliency and availability
- Security: IBM Power provides bulletproof security for mission critical workloads
- Sustainability: By moving from X86 to IBM Power, energy consumption can be significantly reduced resulting in reduced cost of ownership and reduced carbon emissions.

Summary
Maximo Application Suite is now supported on IBM Power (ppc64le). End of Support for Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) is scheduled for end of Q3 2025. The path forward for Maximo EAM customers on AIX is to trade-up to the IBM Maximo Application Suite on Power. The existing EAM customers should follow the migration guide to migrate from EAM 7.x to MAS 9.x on IBM Power platform.
