Note: Make sure to first review and complete the Initial Deployment Getting Started Checklist blog before any mobile deployments.
This blog is focused on the different type of mobile deployments and their own blogs discussing the pre-requisites and helpful information regarding mobile deployments. Deployment Tip:
Ensure to use an Apple or Gmail account accessible to all other admins when integrating the APNS Certificate for iOS and MacOS as well as when integrating with Android Enterprise. This can ensure devices enrolled into MaaS360 can continue to be managed and accounts remain active. If these accounts were to be deactivated, MaaS360 can no longer communicate with enrolled devices.
Android Device Owner (DO) Deployment
This blog contains the checklist MaaS360 administrators can follow for setting up and deploying MaaS360 on company owned Android Devices. It outlines straight forward deployment steps with supporting training materials and documentation for scenarios where full device supervision is required through Android Enterprise. In this setup, the device is treated strictly as a work device and operates in Device Owner mode. For situations where administrators only manage a separate work profile on an employee’s personal device rather than the entire device, that’s referred to as Profile Owner.
Android Work Profile (PO, BYOD) Deployment
This blog provides MaaS360 administrators with instructions for enabling MaaS360 on a personally owned Android devices (BYOD). It includes simplified deployment steps and references to training and documentation, focusing on the use of Android Enterprise with Work Profile. In this management mode, a secure work container is created on the user’s personal device to store corporate apps and data, and this set up is known as Profile Owner mode.
Corporate Owned iOS Device Management
This following blog is designed to guide MaaS360 administrators through deploying iOS devices that are tied to Apple Business Manager. It provides tasks for setting up company owned devices where MaaS360 has full control through policies configured in the portal. Unlike BYOD setups, there’s no personal profile on the device and is managed as a full supervised device applying the supervised settings from the iOS MDM policy.
iOS Employee-Owned Deployment (BYOD)
With this blog MaaS360 administrators are provided with details to set up and manage iOS devices with a straightforward approach. It is intended for organizations that don’t require full device restrictions. Personal and work data are not separated, but organizations still benefit from MaaS360 secure productivity suite.
