Java and Node.js: Together is Better

By Aparna Kallakuri posted Wed June 29, 2016 12:50 AM

Teamwork. From the classrooms at school, to the football field, to corporate boardrooms, this has been drummed into us for as long as we remember. But over the years, one comes to realize that working together is necessary for success.  A team is stronger, more efficient, and frankly, just more fun.

Jason and Kip (two self-assured Java developers or “Java Dude’s” realize the importance of teaming up when they encounter Naomi, a Node.js developer (“Node Girl”) in a stalled elevator on the way to a hackathon. This traumatic experience leads them to teaming up -Java and Node side-by-side, for the hackathon, which they take by storm to bring home the gold.

It’s not easy at first.  The Java Dudes and Node Girl are set in their ways, and stand behind their respective coding languages, but in light of the obvious advantages, they work out their issues and emerge a highly successful team.   Watch their progress from a chance meeting, to the developers using Java and Node.js  together , and finally teaming up for the win!

There are many reasons a Java/Node collaboration is an important key to success.  With application infrastructure solutions like IBM WebSphere on cloud, enterprises can create new mobile, IoT and web applications in Java or Node.  Plus, IBM products can help businesses create, run, manage and enforce these modern applications with a new integrated and flexible API lifecycle management solution: IBM API Connect.
