🚀 We’re excited to announce the release of IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) 9.5, launching on June 20, 2025! This release delivers a modernized, secure, and future-ready platform for enterprise decision automation.

🌟 What’s New in ODM 9.5

✅ Java 21 Support Across the Stack

ODM 9.5 now runs on Java 21, aligning with enterprise modernization goals and offering enhanced performance, security, and long-term support.
Rule Designer is upgraded to Eclipse 4.34 (Eclipse 2024-12), providing a modern IDE and improved Java tooling.

 

✅ Updated Platform Support

ODM 9.5 expands compatibility with:

  • Apache Tomcat 10.1

  • Red Hat JBoss EAP 8

  • IBM WebSphere Liberty (latest version)

  • IBM Db2 12.1

  • Amazon RDS for Db2 (for ODM on Kubernetes)

This ensures flexibility across a wide range of deployment environments.

 

✅ Modernized Runtime Console UI

The Rule Execution Server Console now features a refreshed interface built on IBM’s Carbon Design System, offering:

  • Cleaner navigation

  • Enhanced visualization of runtime data

 

✅ Improved Runtime Observability & Control

  • Enhanced logging gives runtime admins deeper insights into decision service invocations.

  • On Kubernetes, administrators can now dedicate specific runtime pods to execute designated rulesets, enhancing both performance and scalability.

 

✅ Enhanced Decision Center Experience

  • Business users benefit from UI improvements, including smoother navigation from full-screen views.

  • IT teams can now use a new REST API to manage security settings—streamlining administration.
