AirTravel OpenShift hands-on lab for IBM LinuxONE Community Cloud trial

Dear passenger, welcome to AirTravel! This hands-on lab series will introduce you to the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform using a free trial environment on IBM LinuxONE Community Cloud. We have 3 membership statuses, each designed to meet your desired lab duration and complexity level.

With a Silver membership, you will deploy an AirTravel Node.js application from GitHub and Mongo database from the existing container image. You will then configure a key/value secret to use as an environment variable for application runtime and set up persistent storage for the database.

Gold membership will challenge you with a WebSphere Liberty Profile server setup from a Dockerfile, that will be used to run Jenkins CI/CD server. Node.js runtime in this lab will act as a web server, while AirTravel application will be delivered to it using Jenkin's job. Mongo database deployed from an existing container image with persistent storage will hold application logs. You will call Amadeus APIs to perform flight offers search and obtain destination location safety data.

At last, for most experienced passengers, a Platinum membership lab will walk through each step of an AirTravel solution creation, including writing Dockerfiles, WebSphere Liberty Profile server configuration, development of AirTravel Angular application and organizing build & deployment schema with GitHub webhooks and Jenkins build jobs from source code. You will create Angular API modules from swagger descriptions and integrate them into Angular application and much more.

Wishing you a safe and joyful flight ahead.
