  • 1.  ICM "A properties widget has unsaved changes" after no changes made

    Posted Tue June 04, 2024 06:33 AM

Looking for some guidance from experienced and seasoned ICM experts. I have a client who recently upgraded from IBM Case Manager version 5.3.3.000.061 to IBM BAW version 20.0.0.2. They have indicated that whenever they open a case to view the details and then close out - without making any changes - that they receive the following message:

I found the following two APARs which describe similar behavior:

PJ43384: MESSAGE INDICATING UNSAVED CHANGES DISPLAYED WHEN CLOSING WORK DETAILS PAGE WITH EMPTY REQUIRED FIELDS BUT NO USER CHANGES MADE Describes a scenario when a user closes the work details page with empty but required fields, the user may be asked to save or discard changes. However, this was apparently fixed in 5.2.1.2-ICM-IF001 and later, which is prior to the customer's original ICM environment so unlikely that this is the case.

JR64454: "A PROPERTY WIDGET HAS UNSAVED CHANGES" MESSAGE APPEARS ON CLOSE OF CASE DETAILS PAGE WHEN A BOOLEAN FIELD IS NOT POPULATED: This refers to an issue when the case details contain a boolean property on the page with no value. This appears to be fixed in 8.6.30021031-WS-BPM-IFJR64454, so this potentially could be related, need to confirm with the client whether or not they have any booleans on the page.

Aside from the two articles above, has anybody seen and resolved this behavior before?  Looking for some real world experience with this issue and would appreciate any input from the community.

    Thanks -Don

    Hi Don,

Do you get the red box around any fields being displayed (so you know which property is causing the validation error)?

Does this happen on all of your customers environments, or just one (assuming they have at least Non-Prod and Prod)?

Are they using OOTB Case Details page?

Is there any scripting on the page?

What happens if you create a new Case Details page and use it to display cases? Do you still see the issue?

Is there anything in the browser Developer Console?

Nothing earth shattering in the suggestions above, but might provide some insight into the issue.

    Good luck!

    Regards,

    Dave.
