    Hi All,

I need help to solve this problem: When I click on document with right button on print\Document in the Open Browse View (Content Navigator/BAW), I receive the error message below:

The print applet cannot be started.
This problem can occur for the following reasons:

The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is not installed on your workstation.
The Java plug-in is not enabled in your web browser.
The JRE version on your workstation is not compatible with the IBM Content Navigator version.
The browser timed out waiting for the print applet to start.

You can complete the following steps to resolve the issue with the JRE:

Ensure that the JRE is installed on your workstation.
Ensure that the Java plug-in is enabled in your web browser.
Ensure that the JRE version on your workstation is compatible with IBM Content Navigator and try again. A list of the supported versions is included in the Hardware and software prerequisites for IBM Content Navigator document on the IBM Software Support site.

    I already try with browsers:

    Windows 10
    IBM Content Navigator v3.0.9
    IBM BAW v21.0.3
    IBM Filenet v5.5.8

    Firefox Release v107.0 November 15, 2022
    Microsoft Edge V107.0.1418.56(Compilação oficial)(64 bits)V107.0.1418.56 (Compilação oficial) (64 bits)
    Chrome V107.0.5304.107 (Official Build) (64-bit)

    And Java: jre1.8.0_171(32 and 64), jre1.8.0_351(64) and jdk-11.0.16.1(64)

    Hi Fredy,

I assume the issue you describe is related to a combination of the IBM Content Navigator (ICN) settings and the browsers which you are using.

ICN supports two configurations to print documents from a result list (as shown in your screenshot). The old config uses a Java applet and requires a browser version that allows to use Java Applets - which is not the case for nearly all up-to-date browsers. The second option is to use an HTML based printing service which renders the document to PDF and allows printing from basically all web browsers supported by ICN.

The default option for printing is still applet based printing, so you may want to open the admin feature in ICN (cross wheel) and update the printing dialog setting ffor the desktop you use accordingly.

Changiing the setting to "HTML based print service"  should allow you to print documents.

Let us know if this does not solve your problem.

    Best regards,
    Michael
