SQL connectors wit 8.6.0.0_TC system data toolkit

  • 1.  SQL connectors wit 8.6.0.0_TC system data toolkit

    Hi everyone,

In the BAW we have a option to choose the runtime environment (traditional / traditional or container).
If traditional or container selected we have to make changes and one of them is to use the 8.6.0.0_TC toolkit.
Unfortunately this toolkit don't have the sql connectors (sql execute statement, sql call stored procedure, etc).

The question is, how I can convert my app to be traditional or container suitable?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Filipe,

I can see the SQL functionality in the integration.jar I have from the System Toolkit 8.6.0.0_TC on BAW 20.0.0.2. (Verified in a "Traditional or Container" app).
What BAW version are you on?

    Hi Bjorn,

Based on what you said the solution is to use the integration.jar directly instead of use the services contained in the system data toolkit?

    Regards.

    Hi Filipe,

no I just wanted to say that the SQLConnector capability is available.

If the ready-made services in the System Data toolkit suits you, please use them.
In fact, if you look at how they have been implemented, they bind to the SQLConnector external service that in turn calls the functions available in the integration.jar.
But if you have some other needs, you could also create your own External Service using the "Java service from Server File" method, and pick the integration.jar that way.

    Hi Bjorn,
It is okay to maintain both toolkits?system data and system data _TC?
I do not need to remove the toolkit so I can use "traditional or container" runtime environment?

    Regards

    Hi Filipe,

I'm not sure why you would want to keep both?

In my BAW version 20.0.0.2, if I create a new ProcessApp and select target environment mode "Traditional and Container", I get only one System Data toolkit snapshot, i.e. 8.6.0.0_TC to choose from.

I would assume you may run into issues - now or later on - if you try to deploy a "Traditional" mode app using the System Data snapshot 8.6.0.0 in a container environment.

PS. The SQL Connector and associated services are available in both snapshots.

    Hi Bjorn,

I'll use the thread to ask if your BAW 20.0.0.2 resulted from an update or if it was a clean install?
In my case, an update (BAW 18 to BAW 20.0.0.1) was made and my System Data Toolkit (System Toolkit 8.6.0.0_TC) doesn't have the "integration.jar" and the related services such SQL Execute Statement, etc...
Any idea why this jar is missing?

    Hi Adriana,
my environment is provided centrally so I did not install the system myself but I believe it has been upgraded as well, but I could not say from which version. In 20.0.0.2 the functionality is there.

I work with sql servers too. I study info about  mssql gui tool. I have same device on work. Such tool allows you to navigate easily through data and perform full-text searches to create filtered tables and views. User can check help of pro developers too with designing databases, writing SQL code, comparing databases, synchronizing schemas and data.
