Hi Yannick,
when you install "IBM Business Automation Workflow" (traditional on traditional WebSphere Application Server), you get one WebSphere Application Server cell which has all applications installed and configuration applied for Business Process Management (and Case Management) and a relevant subset of FileNet Content Engine, which we refer to as "embedded ECM".
This subset of FileNet has been tested along with the Process and Case Management capabilities on this version of WebSphere (8.5.5.18 in the case of BAW 20.0.0.2). We generally support customers upgrading to newer WAS fix packs, too.
So, unless you are referring to "the FileNet product installed manually into the same WAS cell", the answer is "yes this works and yes, there are limitations to what you can and are allowed to do with regards to document management".

Subject: Experience with FileNet on the BAW cell
Hi,
if the FileNet WebSPHere server is on the same cell than BAW, the FileNet version is enhanced with the BPM version (see image below).
Is this topology really working, no issue or known limitations ?
Best regards
Yannick
