Calling SOAP services from BPM

  • 1.  Calling SOAP services from BPM

An issue we're now overcoming pertains to calling SOAP services from BPM. This should be simple enough but, depending on the WSDL, BPM can struggle to cope. For example there's a known issue about "Anonymous Types" and essentially we've had to create a dumbed-down façade service in SOAP that all integrations in BPM send a request, and then the IIB box behind that façade parses the request and routes the payload to the actual SOAP service (which we couldn't simply change to make it work with BPM, as it's in use elsewhere in our organisation).

It's a bit of a nightmare but we've found the pattern to adopt. We really want to move to 8.5.7 code or even version 8.6, in order to be able to call REST services directly from BPM, but we're stuck on 8.5.6 code at the moment. Anyone else in the same boat?
