The latest release of FileNet Content Manager v5.5.7 and Content Navigator v3.0.10 continues to provide an intuitive user experience, integrated across popular applications with flexibility at its core. Below is an overview of some of these great features, but be sure to follow along in this series to get a closer look (including videos!) into each of the exciting new features in the latest release.
Content Navigator in Microsoft Teams: With over 145M active users (1), Teams is quickly becoming ubiquitous across the enterprise. We now offer an easy way to add Content Navigator to Teams channels so that you don't have to switch back and forth between applications to get the information that you need. Search, browse, edit and more right from the Teams website or application. Check out this blog to learn more.
Office for the Web for Content Services on Cloud (SaaS): Users have more choice when editing content with the addition of Office for the Web. This allows for collaborative editing of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files without having to check out a document. All changes are automatically saved to the FileNet repository.
PCI-DSS certifications for Content Services on Cloud (SaaS): Content Services on Cloud is now officially PCI-DSS certified unlocking use cases for accepting and processing payment transactions. Check out this blog to learn more.
GraphQL API now available for traditional WebSphere Application Server deployments: GraphQL is a rich, modern API that is ideal for web and mobile application development because it is easy to use and optimized for rapidly changing data at scale. Previously only available as a container, it now can be used for WebSphere Application Server deployments. This unlocks access to FileNet features that use GraphQL including the Salesforce Connector and Business Automation Insights emitters. If you have a WebSphere Application Server on-premises deployment, you can now use the Salesforce Connector to have CRM content seamlessly stored in FileNet and/or connect to Business Automation Insights for intuitive visualizations of content related activities without having to spin up a container.
Send documents through email applications (ex: Outlook): From Content Navigator, you can send email attachments and links using a desktop email application, such as Microsoft Outlook. Outlook, or your email application of choice, will pop-up so that you can take advantage of your address book, stored signatures and more without having to download and add content as an attachment.
More options for search including across federated repositories: More flexible cross-repository searches are now possible with Content Navigator with search criteria that are required, hidden, editable or read-only. With the results, you can take more actions including email, print, multi-select actions and exporting all results. Keep your content where it is to avoid costly migrations without having to sacrifice functionality when it comes to search. Additionally, when searching across classes, you can select metadata in any selected class.
Choice and flexibility with additional storage options: We have added new storage options to provide ultimate choice and flexibility including the ability to use containers with Spectrum Protect storage devices and the addition of Microsoft Azure File Stores as an advanced storage area.
Create groups in FileNet: The use of Identity Providers (IdP) help streamline user administration. In v5.5.7 we've made it even easier with the ability to create groups of users.
Export Enterprise Records reports: New reporting options from Enterprise Records now allows you to easily export a .csv file, enabling reporting options in Microsoft Excel and other lightweight reporting tools.
Additionally, FileNet Deployment Manager is now available on zLinux.
