Retiring Decision Composer, what you need to know

By Jerome Joubert posted Thu October 07, 2021 10:16 AM

We’d like to inform you that after 3 years of service, we are retiring Decision Composer.

This free cloud service was an easy way for business users to get familiar with Decision Modeling and to learn how to automate repeatable business decisions. But now, it's time to get to the next level. Automation Decision Services (a part of IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation) takes decision modeling to entirely new heights with the support of more sophisticated data models, composable and AI-infused decisions, support for DevOps, and much more.

Here is what you need to know:
  • As of October 10th, 2021 it won't be possible to create new accounts for Decision Composer. Accounts created before that date will still be available until November 5th, 2021.
  • As of November 5th, 2021, Decision Composer will no longer be available, and free subscriptions will be closed.
  • Until November 4th, 2021 you can export your Decision Composer projects (in the form of zip files). Then you will be able to import them into ODM, ODM on Cloud, or Automation Decision Services. For pure development activities, these projects can also be imported into the free ODM for Developers.
To export a decision project from Decision Composer, simply open the project menu and click "export", as shown below:
    Export project
