Community Tip Series: Post or answer community questions directly from your email!

As community members, we all know the importance of discussion threads and the value they bring to the community. To stay up to date with the latest discussions in your favorite topic groups, you can subscribe to the consolidated digest and receive an email that summarizes all the discussion activities for your topic group. At the same time, you can post or reply to discussions right on your email, making it easier to contribute and help other community members. 

Read below how to post a question or reply to a discussion through email.

  • First, you must be subscribed to either the daily or weekly digest for your specific topic group
    • Learn the difference and how to change your preferences here.
  • If you are already subscribed to digest
    • from your email, you should see the consolidated digest for your topic group.
    • Here you see two functions
      • Post-New Message
      • Discussions
  • Post New Message allows you to post a new discussion question to your topic group from your email
    • The subject line is for the title of the discussion.
    • The body of the email is for the actual question and context.

  • The Discussions tab works as a consolidated summary of the discussions for Tuesday May 17, 2022
  • Here you can see 
    • The initial question 
    • Community members engaged in the question
  • Scroll down to see the full discussion, where you can
    • Reply to the group engaged in the discussion question
    • Reply to the sender/author of the discussion question
These functionalities allow community members to stay engaged in the community through their emails by enabling them to read discussions and be able to reply quickly.
