We are delighted to introduce IBM Process Federation Server Console, a customizable, end-to-end monitoring solution designed for the Process Federation Server within IBM Business Automation Workflow. This Carbon React web application provides an out-of-the-box experience, allowing you to leverage the Process Federation Server's Cluster Runtimedata REST API to monitor a list of Process Federation Server instances and their Federated Systems. IBM will not provide support for the Process Federation Server Console, which is accessible free of charge in the GitHub repository: https://github.com/ibmbpm/ibm-process-federation-server-console.
Here is an overview of the new capabilities provided by IBM Process Federation Server Console:
Overview of Process Federation Server instances

This view shows an intuitive table with details for each Process Federation Server instance being monitored. Each row corresponds to an instance featuring three key insights:
- Endpoint: Displays the instance's base URL, a link to the Swagger UI, and the HTTP status from the Runtimedata API. You can dive deeper into any issues information such as error status by clicking the chevron on the left of the Endpoint column.
- Federated Systems: Lists configured federated systems from the server.xml file, showing their displayNames property or IDs with respective icons. If there are issues or warnings reported for this system in the Process Federation Server instance, the server's name is highlighted with a red error box or a yellow warning box.
By clicking on a server name in the displayed list, you can easily access more information about the server. This includes configuration properties and details about the federated system's database, supplemented with runtime information obtained from the system if available. Additionally, you can view details about the retriever, the list of indexers configured for this federated system in the Process Federation Server instance's server.xml configuration file (if any), and some basic key performance indicators (KPIs) related to this retriever and indexer.
- Federated Data Repository: Provides information about the configured federated data repository that this Process Federation Server instance is configured to use. Any issues related to the configured federated data repository are promptly displayed within this section.
You can quickly update the Process Federation Servers view by clicking the refresh button in your browser or using the Autotoggle at the top of the Monitoring view (also available in the retriever and indexer popup windows). Simply turn on Autorefresh to automatically update the content of the view every 5 seconds. Learn more...
Overview of Federated Systems
This view displays a table with entries for each Federated System configured across the monitored Process Federation Server instances. It features three columns, one for each Federated System instance, providing the following information:
- System: Provides the displayName or ID of the Federated System, with a link to its REST API, enabling you to access more detailed information if necessary. If critical configuration properties vary across monitored Process Federation Server instances for this system, a Configuration Error status is reported in this column. By clicking the chevron to the left reveals more details about the system, highlighting any configuration errors.
- Retrievers Status: Displays a consolidated status of retrievers configured for this system across monitored instances.
- Indexers Status: Shows a consolidated status of indexers configured for this system across monitored instances.
Clicking the chevron on a Federated System's row reveals detailed information about configuration properties, database details, retrievers, and indexers. The content can be easily refreshed using the browser refresh button or turn on Autorefresh for automatic updates every 5 seconds.
