I'm happy to inform to the community that IBM Decision Runtime for z/OS V9.1 has been announced.

Details are here: IBM Decision Runtime for z/OS (DR4z) V9.1

The release date of this offering will be 26th July.

This offering is in effect the next evolution of Operational Decision Manager for z/OS, renamed, with the new features below:

Combined Runtime Capabilities

With this release DR4z has the ability to not only integrate decision services developed for Operational Decision Manager with your new and existing z/OS applications but also decision services developed for

  • IBM Automation Decision Services
  • IBM Decision Manager Open Edition (part of the Business Automation Manager Open Edition offering)

With this new, consolidated packaging decision services can run on z/OS regardless of which of the decision services products they have been developed with. Organisations also have the option to create and use runtime servers on z/OS for multiple decision service products in parallel.

ODM Runtime Enhancements

IMS Fastpath support

This release adds support for IBM IMS Fastpath applications to call the ODM runtime.

Enhanced Integration with Machine Learning scoring services

Since version 8.10.0 ODM has had support for integrating decision services with scoring services developed for IBM Machine Learning for z/OS using a high speed cross memory integration. With DR4z 9.1 this capability has been enhanced to also support calling Machine Learning on z/OS via a RESTful call and scoring services developed with the IBM Cloud Pad for Data.

Platform updates

DR4z 9.1 runs on Java 17, with compatibility for rulesets built with previous ODM versions.

Rule Designer is based on Eclipse IDE 4.30 (2023-12).
