  • 1.  Maximo Mobile for EAM - Installation & Configuration

    Hello,

    I'm trying to install Maximo Mobile for EAM. We are on Maximo 7.6.1.3. Here is what I've done so far.

    1. Downloaded Maximo Mobile for EAM from Passport Advantage
    2. Completed the instruction in the "Readme" file
    3. Downloaded and installed MaximoMobileEAM-1.0.12 desktop Application
    4. Launch application and put in server address
    5. Entered in username/password

    Issue

    1. It is stuck on "Setting up (0%) for more than 6 hours

    Questions:

    1. Does anyone know what the problem/solution might be?
    2. Does anyone know how to configure Maximo Mobile for EAM after it is working?
      1. Do I need to install another piece of software to configure it?

    After installation you have to grant users access to the mobile apps, very similar to any other app, but with a nuance. Within the Security Group the user is a member of, filter for the mobile app(s) in the Applications tab and grant them access. Then, you have to apply the Security Template via the manage/apply templates Action. Now the User not only has the access the need to the app, but they also have access to the underlying MXAPIxxxxx object structures the app needs to interact with. Hope this helps.

    Hi John,

    Thank you for your response. 

    What mobile applications should I be seeing in the applications tab? The only Mobile applications we have are ones we created at one point but we never use them. I am logged in as MaxAdmin and have full access to them.

    Here is what I have for mobile applications.

    Filter Application Type for "Tools" - this is the Type for Mobile EAM apps.

    Hi Stephan - Looks like you are running into the errors when syncing. Have you checked logs? To see the logs-

    1. Open Navigator menu and navigate Help and Support 
    2. Choose Log Data action and enable debug logging
    If you are not able to see logs after this, logout and login back in the app.
