  • 1.  Crews Assignment Manager Availability

Hello all, thank you for reading my post. I have recently been trying to implement Crews functionality and have noticed that the people I have assigned to crews have their available time modified in the Assignment Manager. The crew and the individual are using the same Calendar and Shift and the Crews Availability Factor is set to 1. A typical shift is 12 hours with 9 of those hours available for assignment. My labor resource who is assigned to the crew is now showing 10 hours and I think this is due to the shift being defined as 0100-2400 and Maximo is taking the additional hour as crew availability and adding it to the labor resource availability. How do I get Maximo to only display 9 hours of availability for my labor resource? Any help would be appreciated!

Shawn, your shift is too wide of a range.  It should only be the 12 hrs that they initially work.  0100-2400 gives them too many hours.  You are correct to assume it is your labor resources shift.  Your calendar and shift along with allocated breaks should be the total number of hours the labor resource is available.  This at least works for us in the past in Graphical Assignment.

Thank you Terry, much appreciated. We have been having a lot of fun trying to get this to work and I have a couple of set-up questions that I cannot find any answers to on-line. Do you happen to know which of these statements is accurate?

    1. Crew and labor records should share the same calendar and shift
    2. Crew and labor records should share the same calendar but separate shifts
    3. Crew and labor records should not share calendars or shifts (each should have their own)

The issue we are having are these:

    1. When crew and labor record share the same calendar and shift the availability for the labor resource is 0 hours for the current day. The available hours for the next day the labor resource is set to work is -3 hours and the days after that are correct at 9 hours of availability
    2. When crew and labor share the same calendar but have a different shift we can play with the hours to get all the availability correct for the crew and labor resources but when assigning work it does not subtract any hours from either the crew or the labor resource associated with the crew.
    3. if the planner/scheduler changes their time zone it affects the available time for the labor resource in their assignment manager labor list.

I have tried setting up the calendar to the exact shift parameters and apply that to the Crew and Labor but it does not have an affect on the issue we are seeing, it is the same no matter how the shift is configured. Appreciate any help you may be able to offer and thanks again.
