John,
Thanks for the reply. I had tried something similar to this before, but it required the users to enter an input and output on the data sheet which is different from their current process. I had looked at the function check as mentioned above, but that didn't allow the users to enter a value. Ultimately, I decided on an Asset Function of DISCRETE.
In the Asset Function section:
- Calibration Point = 1
- Tolerance on Input = 1
- Min Field Resolution = 3
- Units = OHMS
- Tolerance 1 set to Description of Failure, Single From -0.030 to 0.030 and Status when exceeded FAIL
Finally, I added just one Calibration Point with a Set Point of 250.000 and left the Switch Action blank. This calculated the tolerance of 249.925 to 250.075.
At first, I had ruled out the DISCRETE Asset Function Type because I saw the switch action and didn't think it fit well with this use case. But now I can see that it fits well for a case when you are taking one data point and the calibration either passes or fails on that point and you want to record the data.
Thanks for the help.

Subject: Calibration - Data Sheet Template for Calibrating a Resistor
Wes,
I setup a sheet/Asset Function with the Input range being 240 - 260 Ohms, with the Range Limit -0.0075 to 0.0075 EU ohms. Then the Tolerance is checked on the Output and the Output range is also 240-260 ohms. Tolerance 1 is -0.0075 to 0.0075 EU and If exceeded is Fail. On the Cal Point record is 250 nominal and desired is 250.
While in hindsight I might have messed up the 0.03% to EU, the form seems to accept values/reacts with Pass/Fail as I expected once on a work order.
(I am using MAS Manage 9.0, not Maximo 7.6)

Subject: Calibration - Data Sheet Template for Calibrating a Resistor
I need some help understanding how I would configure a Data Sheet Template for calibrating a resistor. This is the first simple use case for calibration that I am configuring for our Cal Shop. This is a 250Ω resistor and they just check to make sure it is 250Ω ±0.03%. They will adjust the resistance if needed and retire the asset if it cannot be adjusted into spec. This resistor will be used as M&TE for other calibration work orders.
I've tried several different methods of configuring the data sheet, but it seems I have to have an Input and an Output in order to specify a Tolerance. I understand how this is useful for pressure transducers and the like where the input might be PSIG and the output mA, but I don't understand what I should be entering for a single measurement.
