We did a recent upgrade from Anywhere version 7.6.2.1 to version 7.6.4 for a client. One feature we found that is no longer available in 7.6.4 is the ability to change the connection settings (target URL) from the login screen and instead the user is prompted to enter in the target URL when the application first launches and are then brought to the login screen.
This originally was not a big issue as the client had all Android devices and users could use the clear cache/data feature so the next time they launched the application, the would be prompted to input a target URL again. However, they have recently begun the transition to iOS devices which do not have the clear cache/data capability. Instead the application has to be un-installed and then re-installed. This is an issue as the devices are all managed devices and the end users do not have the ability to un-install/re-install so they would have to contact the IT department each time they would want to change the target URL and in turn the IT department would have to un-install/re-install the application for them. Since there is 50+ users, this is quite the headache for them.
So my questions if anybody could answer them would be :
1. Why did IBM remove the ability to change the target URL from the login screen?
2. Has anybody found a way to change the target URL on iOS devices without having to un-install/re-install the application?
Any information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!
