Any Maximo mobile simulator for desktop?

    Hi,

    Is there any Maximo mobile simulator available for desktop which can be connected to Maximo mobile and test?

    This is in addition to Role based apps that are available in Manage.

    There are some simple Ios mirroring apps that will help to visualise the UI in the desktop- if you are looking for something like that.

    This is the approach I recommend if you have a Windows device. There is platform specific code so if you need to troubleshoot something that only happens on Android then you should use the Android emulator. But for general testing of how the app will work on a mobile device, the Windows app should provide a good testing experience without needing an emulator to run.

    The Windows app is retrieved from Passport Advantage from a customer perspective (and I believe Software Access Catalog if business partner). The part number changes with each release but you select the Maximo Application Suite 8.9 product for example, and pick "IBM Maximo Application Suite Mobile for EAM Windows App" if using Maximo Mobile on 7.6.1.X or "IBM Maximo Application Suite Mobile Windows App" if using Maximo Application Suite.

    The two most current part numbers (that will be changing when 8.10 is released on the 28th) is:

    M0980ML IBM Maximo Application Suite Mobile for EAM Windows App V8.9 Multilingual
    M0981ML IBM Maximo Application Suite Mobile Windows App V8.9 Multilingual

    If you provide those part numbers in the search it should take you right to it. Even if you're using 8.8, you can use the 8.9 version of the Windows application.

    Hi Steve, 

    We have downloaded "M0980ML IBM Maximo Application Suite Mobile for EAM Windows App V8.9 Multilingual" zip file. It has one set up file and tried to install it but it is opening installation window and disappearing immediately without error and no installation is happening. We are using windows 16 standard server. Is there any compatible issue ? Can you please suggest!

    Are you unzipping the file using the Windows extract or via a tool like 7-zip?  The file should just unzip and put the contents into a folder called maximomobile-8.9.  Is that present on your computer?

    Some time ago I also tried to install the program on Windows Server but without success because unlike the desktop version the installation via msi requires a group policy or the use of msiexec.exe (that didn't work for me either). 
    So I gave up and installed in 2 min on a Windows 11  ;-)

    This was an issue on earlier versions of the Windows application but is something we've had addressed for a while. I would make sure you uninstall the Maximo Mobile app from the Control Panel and download the latest version of the MSI from Passport Advantage. We just came out with 8.11 which you likely aren't running but as long as you're running a supported version of Maximo Mobile, you should be able to use the latest version of the application. The part # is M0FHJML for EAM customers if you want to search for it that way.

    All Manage Role based applications (Mobile) will allow to open in browser and perform testing but there is limitation of display all features in Browser.

    Dear Kayala,

    We have requirement to test an application from Ivanti called Velocity with MAS Mobile.

    Velocity supports telnet or web ( browser based) applications, looks like MAS mobile is not being support on telnet but I have seen it support browser, can you please guide me how to access on Mobile Browser?

    We we will be able to access MAS mobile using browser and with velocity, we can easy add voice capability into Maximo Mobile to complete Picking or Cycle count through voice commands.

    Have you tried using Android virtual devices in Android studio. For me, this is the easiest and free ( mostly allowed by IT security team as well) software for testing Maximo Mobile apps. IBM also gives you the debug enabled apk which can be used to debug the issue using android avd and chrome remote debugging tools.

    This is the setup that I have been using.

    On a physical device it works but on the emulated app it reports very strange errors (see attached log)
