SUMMARY This document provides definitions of IT metrics and cost pool drivers for individual sub-towers of the ATUM v.2.1 and 3.0 taxonomy (Learn more). This document also includes the sub-tower Units of Measure, which identify volumes in Infrastructure metrics for sub-towers.

TBM Taxonomy V3.0.2 (Definitions Document)
Found the easiest way to give end users the definitions.
Hey @Ryan Paul, does a larger, overarching document that includes all towers and sub towers exist? I am trying to explain to some of our end users but I think it would be much more beneficial for them to read about and see examples of what exactly they want to learn. Any help would be appreciated?
Hi Bert-Jan,
In regards to Email, this is actually a Service within the ATUM Versions. In the Interactive Benchmarking product it appears to look like it's an actual sub-tower in the volumes and cost data section, but in actual terms it's a Service that we'd populate with the number of email boxes at the All Business Services Object.
In this version Email is a separate Sub Tower within the End User Tower. Shouldn't Email, according to the TBM V3.0 Taxonomy, be part of the End User Software Sub Tower within the End User Tower?
Bert-Jan
Matthew,
This is referencing the Benchmarking Towers and SubTowers. It has been the same for the other docs that were posted within Benchmarking as well. I doublechecked but I see IT Management in this doc. However it’s only benchmarkable at the tower the the individual sub towers.
Happy to to discuss further with you, but from your comment it appears you are looking for a larger document that includes all towers and sub towers not just limited to the benchmarkable ones.
I understand the move of those subtowers to a new tower; however, this document excludes any mention of the Application and IT Mgmt tower
@Matthew Hall the reason that this does not have applications compared to the ATUM v2.0 is because Database and Middleware moved from the Application Tower to the Platform Tower. The ATUM v2.0 had the section for Applications, but it was the following Sub-Towers:
1. Middleware
2. Mainframe Middleware
3. Database
4. Mainframe Database.
Let me know if this helps
-Ryan
this version is missing the Application tower
*EDIT - removed and the IT Management Tower from above
Is this going to be made available in an excel version for download and possible upload into Apptio?
