 How to map spikes and defects to Taragetprocess from Jira?

Hi,

I am trying to map spikes and defects form Jira to Targetprocess. I was expecting the ability to either ad a custom entity type or have use of a story type field.

I'm assuming now that I would need to create a "Story Type" custom field in Targetprocess and somehow via JavaScript code the Jira integration to assign a spike to a user story in TP of type "Spike" and then to sync a spike from TP to Jira, do the same thing in reverse.

This is a common use case in my experience with Jira Align and it is support out of the box. IS there any solution out there already I can read and copy?

Hi Peter, I was able to do this quite successfully, however needed Apptio's guided services to create new "Issue types" been spikes and defects, once done they also connected the two with JS mappings. Just bear in mind your hierarchy needs to be aligned across both systems and that teams must use a consistent "Parent link" in JIRA so that TP can pick this up parent link and add is as a entity under a Story.

I dont think this is out of the box.
