By Mandy Reyes posted Tue November 14, 2023 03:39 PM

Today, the team is excited to introduce version 6.7 of IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM), providing hybrid cloud application-centric network observability. The SevOne NPM team continues to deliver enhancements across Hybrid Cloud and SDWAN supportability while up-leveling our application-centric workflows. In this release, we've added new support for Azure Cloud networks, a native VMWare SDWAN Plugin, and application-first queries. As always, we continue to enhance our solution’s architecture, ease of use, data enrichment and exploration.

To benefit from these updates, contact your account manager, tech sales, or customer care team to upgrade to the latest release. For a comprehensive overview of all the features of v6.7, consult the release notes.

Application Centricity

Building upon the foundational groundwork accomplished in previous releases, version 6.7 empowers clients with a streamlined approach to troubleshooting applications, starting with the application itself.

  • Application First Query prioritizes an application-centric approach, streamlining the process of initiating exploration workflows. Designed for Software as a Service (SaaS) and custom applications, explore applications from a report from a single click with application reporting variables.

  • Flow to Metric chain enhancement makes it possible to adjust the number of flow interfaces and mapped indicators for improved performance and scale.

  • Leveraging IPv6 support in the SaaS enrichment system, customers can now report on SaaS applications that use IPv6.

 Usability and Management Improvements

  • Evolving our architecture, we've migrated from MySQL Enterprise to MariaDB so customers will have a secured and maintained database embedded in their deployment.

  • Continued updates to the device manager now with refresh control, keeping page content up to date, and bulk discovery controls.

  • Initiate and cancel device discovery, as well as control how frequently the Device Manager page refreshes directly from Data Insight (DI)

  • Enhanced report management now with version control for easier collaboration.

  • Performance optimizations to device mover allow customers to rebalance the collection capacity of their deployments more quickly.

Hybrid Cloud Network Monitoring - Azure Cloud

  • Added Azure Cloud visibility and monitoring with phase one metrics, virtual machine metrics, and virtual machine scale sets.

  • The Azure integration uses Microsoft's newly introduced Data Plane API, which has an improved query limit, allowing SevOne NPM to collect large data sets in a very cost-effective and scalable way.

Support for Next-Generation Networks

  • Support for VMWare SDWAN now includes seamless integration to the VMWare SDWAN Orchestrator, enabling automated on-boarding, metadata enrichment, along with out-of-the-box content for quick insights.

  • Updates to Viptela and Versa ease of use functionality
