SevOne NPM v6.5 - Now Generally Available

By Mandy Reyes posted Wed April 26, 2023 10:20 AM

Today, we're excited to announce the release of version 6.5 of IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM), providing application-centric, hybrid network observability. This release extends the monitoring of modern, software-defined and wifi-enabled networks to include support for public cloud infrastructure – all in a single dashboard.

With the addition of cloud monitoring for AWS, users now have insight at their fingertips of the network they own along with the one they don't. As organizations migrate workloads to the cloud, they can report on how the migration is going and compare on-premises performance to that of AWS. The team is very excited about this release and the new visibility and efficiencies our clients will gain. Please see the full release notes for more details about this latest version, and drop your comments and congratulations to the team in the discussion.

Public Cloud Visibility – AWS

  • Collect performance data from popular AWS resources, including EC2, S3, NAT gateways, transit gateways, and direct connects.
  • Gain visibility into AWS Cloud Infrastructure with shareable, customized, and prebuilt reporting on day one to proactively detect and troubleshoot issues.
  • Utilize metric streams from AWS CloudWatch for time series data at a 70% lower data access cost from AWS than other solutions in the market.
  • Leverage default machine learning analytics and visualization to aid in troubleshooting, anomaly detection, and forecasting.
  • Explore AWS performance enriched with metadata, enabling analysis and visualization filtered by account, region, and more.
  • Store AWS-based metrics for one year, enabling better historical troubleshooting for compliance use cases and more.

Next-Generation Data Exploration

  • New support for virtual failover in Aruba Instant WiFi networks to provide continuous monitoring.
  • Expanded SD-WAN functionality with improvements to Cisco Viptela, Fortinet, and Versa flow improvements, further strengthening modern network visibility.

Exceptional User Experience

  • Extended topology support for IS-IS and EIGRP routing protocols enabling a more comprehensive understanding of network connectivity and device relationships.
  • Enhancements to reporting query and filter options for faster data exploration to shorten troubleshooting times.
  • Support for full lifecycle management of SNMP traps.
