  • 1.  spss(29ver) R is not working

    Posted 5 days ago

    Hello, dear developer.
This is the user of the version 29 of spss.
    I'm having a hard time using R.
I also set the setting and file location properly, and there are no issues related to this.
    Strangely, Python runs normally.
I thought it was a problem with the initial installation, so I tried to reinstall it after complete deletion, but it was useless.
To be precise, the Begin program R is not running and error code is Error # 6887. Command name: Begin program.
I checked that other computers are working properly, so I think it's a computer problem, but I don't know how to approach it

    Hi @chanho park

Please make sure you are installing the very latest version of IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0.x.x (29.0.2.0).

    It can be found here:
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/downloading-ibm-spss-statistics-29020

IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0.2.0 installs and configures its own instance of Python (Python 3.10.4) and its own instance of R (R 4.2.0).  If you like, you may install your own external version of Python and R, but these must also be Python3.10.x and R 4.2.x.  Once you have installed these external versions, redirect IBM SPSS Statistics to use them via the "Edit -> Options" menu and "File Locations" tab.

IBM SPSS Statistics 30.0.0.0 (172) is compatible with and installs for itself R 4.4.1, if you'd like to use a more recent version of R.

Version 30.0.0.0 (172) can be found here:

    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/downloading-ibm-spss-statistics-30
