Subject: Persistent issues with the IBM SPSS license activation servers
Hi,
I've received reports from users who are unable to activate their SPSS licenses.
Does anyone know if the recent license activation issue is still ongoing?
Thank you.

Hi @Steve Kass
This issue should now be resolved:
* August 27, 2024 1:30 pm CDT *
Thank you for your patience while SPSS support, development and Revenera worked to resolve this issue. You may now activate your license.
If you continue to see issues, please update support as soon as possible.

Subject: Persistent issues with the IBM SPSS license activation servers
Yesterday and today, my attempts to activate a just-purchased Faculty GradPack failed in-app. The scenario was the same each day, but from two different locations on two different platforms. (I am using one activation for my work PC and one for my home Mac, since I am not always working from the same place.)
After entering the authentication code in-app, and after a long pause with no indication anything was happening, I was directed to authenticate via email to spssls@us.ibm.com. This yielded an automated reply saying
Due to a temporary issue on the IBM SPSS license activation servers, we were unable to process your request. We recommend you to wait one hour before resending your email to the same address. Once the license activation server is active again, you can expect a response within a few minutes.
A few hours later, I was able to authenticate (I don't recall if it was in-app or by email).
A colleague reported the same behavior this week.
Classes start next week and scores of students will be installing their Student GradPacks for our courses. If they have the same problems, the first week of classes will be a nightmare. This is the first semester in some years where we have required individual student installations, and I am worried.
Are the activation servers regularly unreliable? Is there anything I can do to make things go smoothly for my students? It doesn't help either that the online documentation for how to install an authorization code is out of date (there is no License Authorization Wizard program installed with SPSS 29).
