Decision Optimization

I tried to use ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio on my MacBook. The installation worked fine, but after startup the application is literally unusable.

I created a empty Project, when I click any file I get a java.lang.NullPointerException. In the preferences, when I try to access any Page I just get a error that the current page has wrong values.

Any Idea how to fix that. My colleague has exactly the same problems. I have currently installed 12.10, but already tried with 12.9 which shows the same errors.

Are you using MacOS Beta Big Sur ?

On this OS version, Eclipse (that we use internally) has many know problems running.

MacOS Catalina so far is working well with OPL IDE

Not the OP but I am having the same issue and am running MacOS Big Sur Version 11.0.1 Beta (20B5012d) (it has happened on the last couple versions of the beta).

Will there be a fix to this issue soon?

Latest version of COS 20.1 is known to work on MacOS Big Sur

The issue is with the IDE which has the already described issues, probably linked back to the issues Eclipse has with Big Sur.

Not running on MacBook Air(M1) running Big Sur. still have the same error.

Are you in dark mode ? Switching to light mode when installing can make it work better

OP here: still getting a NullPointer exception when trying to create a project. (CPLEX 20.10 / MacOS 11.2.3).

Sad that a company like IBM can't fix its Software in half a year.

My conclusion: I will never use CPLEX again after studying.
